Just wondering if I should invest in one. I have not had a need for one yet, but can see how it can help. What are your thought on this gadget?

Great device. Only use mine about once a month or so, but lets me sleep soundly at night

I have the Stoker and love it. Works perfectly.

I do. It is great. Lets me sleep without worries. Can't beat this thing with the Egg.
This combo is like peanut butter and Ritz crackers. -
I've had one for about a year, love it.

Been using mine several times a week for two years. Set it and forget it. I love my trusty Guru.
-
I've had one for three years and use it on all my low and slow cooks, it works just great.

They are super devices that do a great job. I use them whenever I'm doing something for more than an hour, because I tend to get distracted. The Naked Whiz

Yes this.
I like them as they also give me peace of mind while cooking overnight. I go to sleep and soundly. When I get up in the AM my EGG is sitting at the temp I left it at. I use them mainly for low and slow cooks. Absolutely love it. Great investment. Mine is the cheaper one (Nano). I won't get anything different as it suits what I do. -
I have one and use it once in a while. I do like it very much for the over night cooks. Or when I am multi-tasking. Tim

Ditto to TNW, Guru or Stoker, you can't go wrong. Just do some research on TNW's site and look for the features that meet your BBQ needs and the style of cooking you do. I use my Guru weekly and love it.

Our egg, which art in sizes, hallowed be thy smoke, thy will be grilled, at home as it is at eggfest. Give us this clay our daily brisket and forgive us our rubs, as we forgive those who gas grill against us, and lead us not to flashback but deliver us from overnighters. For thine is the grill, the smoke, the egg. Let's eat!

I have a guru and use mine anytime I do a low and slow, or ribs with CWM's method. It works great for that. I clip the pit probe on the dome thermometer, and dial in to exactly 225,250, and 275 for the finish. Guru or Stoker, you can't beat em

I have one, and use it only for overnighters. Love it.

by all means get one, i just got mine and love it, cooked a lot of pork butts and ribs with out one and it was a lot tougher with out the guru, you dont know how great it is until you have one!!

Yeah, I have several, but I don't have to invest in them..... One is a long haired dude, that wears tie died T-shirts and sandals. He is pretty smart and dispenses his wisdom very subtlety. My other guru's are barbecuists, some young and some older. They come from all walks of life and come to the rescue at the weirdest times (sometimes in the middle of the night even). Heheheee.
Seriously, I have one of the older ones, and I use it on some of my all-day and many of my overnight cooks, especially when the weather is not the best.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
I just bought mine a few weeks ago. Don't need one but it is nice not to have to watch temp all the time.
