After I cooked up some chicken thighs, butternut squash and red potatoes (no pics), the kids wanted s'mores. So I just opened up the bottom vent all the way and took off the green cap and sure enough in no time the lump relit and was about 500 (not very much lump left after the cook). I cook the marshmallows right from the top hole...it's cooks them perfect every time.

We had giant marshmallows last night after our pork tenderloin...skewer them up right down in the coals...YUMMY!

I discovered that a while ago. I just love the marshmellows all by themselves. you definitely need 500 to brown up the outside and still just melt the inside.
If you cook them at 350 dome, you will melt the mellow without browning.
Can't wait to do some marshmellows for the kids on thanksgiving after doing the Turkey!!XL Walled Lake, MI -
