I got 4- 6 pounders on at 240 for the last 5 hours. It is amazing the guru can hold the egg within 1 degree for so long. My electric stove varies 40 degrees every time it cycles.

Butt's on, hoping to eat late lunch, will settle for early supper :P

Actually I'm amazed the egg can hold the temperature within 1 degree without any electrical stuff at all.

you can always throw them on even if the egg is "hot". 300, 325 is no issue really, and the egg will drop in temp when you put them on anyway, just make sure to adjust vents or it will return to the higher temp when it recovers.
next time try to catch the temp on the way up, before it tops 250
