Big Green Egg on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight!

Adam Perry Lang will be grilling on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show tonight. Why is this important you ask, he is using two large Big Green Eggs. I am just about to head over to the studio to drop off two large EGGs.

I do not know the extent of the show, nor do I know what he will be doing on them. Who cares? A nationally recognized and highly trained chef cooking on the Big Green Egg is a great thing. And from what I understand, he may be a nice new addition to the Big Green Egg family.

With any luck I will try to convince him to make an appearance at EGGfest.

    I dropped the EGGs off this morning at the back lot of the show. Slayer was setting up as the music guest...NICE!

    The EGGs are sitting on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where they will be smokin' tonight. Good exposure and great to smoke up Hollywood Blvd and all of the American Idol fans across the street!

    I just realized that BGE has a page on Facebook as well.

    It is also advertised there.

    I did a little research on Adam Perry Lang and ran across his comment about visiting Jimmy Kimmel's back yard.

    "Jimmy Kimmel's backyard is amazing. He's got a massive pizza oven, a massive gas grill with infrared burner, a Big Green Egg, and even a kegerator. And everything is built-in. It's what I imagine heaven is like."

    So Jimmy Kimmel must be a smart fellow. He has an Egg.

  • Sorry, stupidly started a new thread on this same topic. Yes, Adam is cooking pork three different ways on Hollywood Blvd. Jimmy Kimmel and Adam are friends, and Jimmy is a crazy cook and loves talking BBQ. Airing on ABC, most markets have it on at 12:05a, 11:05 central.

  • And one more thing...Adam's book 'Serious Barbeque' has pictures of Adam cooking on his egg (as well as on a kettle), and all the recipes always tell how to set a ceramic grill. Fun stuff.

    Shad I was wondering why I wasn't asked to cook on the show? O thats right no talent,no skills and not quite hollywood looks! O well we still have the Top chef Eggfest title.Glad to see your post and hope to see you soon.

    Just watched the piece...generally helpful for this newb, but also a shame that the BGE didn't get better publicity.

    Overall...I guess a marketing spot for his book. Still cool with me!

    Anyone get the book yet? I think it's called BBQ 25.

  • My copy of BBQ 25 showed up on the door step yesterday. It is a very interesting book. For those of you with kids, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say it is a "board book". Every page is like a piece of cardboard. It is small in size, about the size of a pad of paper. It is supposed to be used as a "field guide". It contains the most popular 25 recipes for BBQ according to APL. He does recipes based on the different types of meats you have, even based on the thickness of the cut. I found it very interesting and will be cooking from this book very soon probably. Keep an eye out for pics!
