Plates submitted to the judges (I sure hope I have the correct plate linked to the correct chef) Everything looked and smelled soooooooo delicious. Sure wish I could have been a judge so I could have tasted the food.

Jay, that is so true. You are all champions in my book. I could never in my life produce such a wonderful meal in 30 minutes with surprise ingredients. You were all so creative and efficient. I'm just going to have to find a way to be able to taste each dish next year.

All of the teams were so AWESOME! It was very exciting watching it all from start to finish. even when Todd pulled out the two munchkins to help him. Boy was that from left field.... they got me good on that one LOL

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Thanks for the pics Rebbeca, it was so bold of you to step forward and announce your intentions to compete next year FIRST. I commend you. ;)

No way Mike, I have no intentions of lowering the standards of such an illustrious and distinguished competition. Besides, I want to be a judge and taste the food!

However, since you already have one IEC from OKC, I think it is imperative that you compete in the Sunshine fest IEC next year.

Michael, your space center stuff was mailed Friday. It's mostly from the Delta side but hope you like it.

Sorry it took such a long time to post. The food was awesome.
  • Thanks Pat:

I've been meaning to check up on this and cooking on the egg, but every day life has been getting in the way since we returned.

I hear our weather in the Toronto area is going to be about 75 later this week. We're catching up to you. Ha! Ha!

    Michael
  • It was certainly worth the wait.

I wish I could have tasted those gems. Everything looked great.

I was very open about who my sous chefs would be. I said that I had scanned the globe, that my sous chefs were still fighting their way through puberty, and they had trouble seeing over the prep table. I could not have been more obvious!

Thanks for the post, Rebecca. It was a pretty big challenge to cook all that in 30 minutes, plus not know any of the ingredients in advance.

I never got to take any pictures of the plated food but here is a picture Jay took of my plate from another angle.

    S031210-19.jpg

I gave my camera to Paul Bangs to take pictures. These two are funny, look how we both have the exact same rattled look on our faces upon the plate turn-in!!

It was fun and right afterwards I said I would never do it again. Now, however, I think I would.

Faith, you rock! It takes me weeks just to plan a dinner party. I just couldn't wing it in front of 450 people.

The pics of you and Jay are uncanny. Next year you'll have to wear tie dye!

Hey Jay, what size shirt do you wear? I sense that Pat and I are going to have a present for you next year. I'm not certain it's something Jerry Garcia would wear, but I'm sure David Bowie would wear it.....

Rebecca, I'm not so sure you can get Jay to shed the tye-dye. I still have some sparkle letters, maybe a hat for Jay??
