First I want to thank Mike, Shelton and JT of BBQ Island, you put on a first class eggfest. The meet n' greet on Friday was faboulous. I couldn't believe the amount of delicious food that was served. The fest on Saturday was even better. There were 20 cooks and 150-200 tasters. Dr. BBQ made an appearance and he did a rib class that ended up being standing room only. The people that I talked to were amazed at the amount of food that was served and that they were only charged a mere $10 for admission. There was no admission fee for cooks and no fees for the meet n' greet, which is pretty unheard of for an eggfest. This was BBQ Island's first eggfest but they are by no means new to doing large events. This past Dec. they held a KCBS competition with 4000 attendees. The Iron Egg Chef competition was fun to watch. I got to see Desert Filly with her sous chef AZRP and Boogie in action. She ended up getting Reserve Champion and then went on to win the People Choice award quite handedly. Way to go Kim, you can add these to your ever growing list of lifetime egging acheivements.
Del and I enjoyed meeting and spending time with the AZRP/Desert Filly clan. What a lovely family. Their granddaughter Riley who's is 7 is adorable and a great cook. She made her famous s'mores on a mini, which were a hit.
Thanks to AZRP and Desert Filly who brought tables, tablecloths and set up everything for us. It was greatly appreciated. Thanks too for the bag of beautiful lemons.
Here's some pics, I don't know the names of all the people but I'll list the ones I do know.

BBQ Islands is hands down the most beautiful BBQ store I've ever been in. They're expanding to 6000 sq. ft and even adding an outdoor deck. Can't wait to see it when it's done.
