BGE has new fire ring!!!

Got my new lg egg yesterday, and the new fire ring has a 1/8inch slit/gap in it. Designed to elliminate cracks due to stress. they were having to many broken fire rings..

Do you mean firebox? The BGE that I picked up a couple weeks ago has a slit in the firebox, but not the fire ring.
I keep meaning to take a picture of it, but haven't gotten around to it. -
Good move on their part. I'm sure they could do the same with the Fire Pit. Replacing 1/3 of it has gotta be less expensive than replacing all of it.
