I went to two Mexican markets yesterday and found some tamarindo syrup that is designed to be diluted 7/1 to make agua fresca. It tastes pretty good and I am anxious to try it on chicken, pork and salmon.
I also picked up some piloncillo and made café de olla this morning. I don’t even use sweetener in my regular coffee, but you have to love that stuff on a cold morning.
I also picked up a jar of huitlacoche and am planning to make pasta de huitlacoche and serve it dressed with olive oil and garlic and then add some grilled shrimp.
