I'm going to cook a pork butt tonight and was wondering if anyone ever adds wood chunks during the cook. I usually put 3-4 chunks in at the beginning but that doesnt seem to provide quite enough smoke flavor.
Thanks

mix a few chunks in with your lump, gives you smoke throughout the cook

What he said...just mix the chunks in as you fill the fire box. As the fire burns, it will catch more smoking wood on fire.
