<p />Hi, my name is Steve.... and I'm an Eggaholic.[p]I've just added to my nest of Eggs. Can anyone tell me if this is actually a BGE product or some other ceramic cooker. And if it is a BGE any idea how old it might be? It appears to be a different type of ceramic, so I'm guessing it is one of the older ones that I should not use at high heat. It is sitting next to my small in the picture. My large is on the other side of the deck with a butt at 192*, just about ready to pull [p]Thanks,[p]Steve

singram, it looks to be one of the early BGEs made in Japan from clay. Cooked well but don't try taking it over 400-450.

actually my first guess would be that it was one produced by kamado years ago. check at kamado.com with richard

singram,[p]Looks like something from the pre-historic era. I like the way our ancestors designed a primitive thermometer for the unit. How does it work? Does the stick burn down to indicate what temp. you're cooking at? Just razzin... I like it. Brings a little nostalgia into play. Mac
