Heat Resistant Silicone???

The silicone around the draft door on my small egg is peeling off. I called BGE and they said that I needed to replace it with "heat resistant silicone". The only silicone I've found so far is regular silicone with no mention of "heat resistant". Any ideas?
Thanks
Thanks

Go to an auto parts store. They have it.

Thanks...I wouldnt have thought to look there.

Out of curiosity - could you use the heat resistant silicone as gasket glue? I'm trying to figure out if that was a dumb question I just asked

Yes - it works great. Did it years ago.

Hey - I knew it wasn't a dumb question. So does it work better than the 3M-Super 77 stuff? I would think it has a better seal than the glue or 3M-Super 77.
You have a rutland - right? BTW - do you owe me lunch or do I owe you? hell - my memory sucks!

Well, I lost the bet (stupid squids), but since I am giving you so much advice you can buy me lunch. Maybe next week one day we can meet somewhere.
The Super77 isn't even close to the adhesive power and durability of the silicone. I have Rutland on one egg and regular felt on the other 3. -
Dang - I wonder why others don't use it...or do they and just don't say? Lunch is good next week...now that I through the first week of schools opening back up.

Last week I glued on my new replacement Nomex gasket with the Permatex UltraCopper Silicone. (available at all autopart stores) It's high temp stuff.
I must say, I'm quite impressed with it's tenacity.
I spread a good amount on the rim of the dome and base, and carefully laid the gasket on, being careful to not pull it taught.
Shut the lid, and the next day lit a low temp fire in it.
I think it's on for the long haul. Though we'll see. -
I saw a while back that someone had used the stuff to make a gasket, put a layer on both sides with a piece of toothpick here and there and a layer of saran wrap in between, closed the pit and let it dry. Sounds like it would work to me. I might give it a shot next time.
