Been egging since eggtoberfest and have done everything except an overnight butt. Put on an 8 ½ butt last night around 8 pm. Went to bed at midnight holding steady at 225°, got up at 4:15 to check on it. Good thing because the dome had dropped to 190°. Kicked it up and went back to bed. At 8 this morning back up to 240°. Been holding at 230° ever since. 18 hours later and the internal temp is 180°. I cannot wait to see how much lump is left after 20 plus hours. Amazing how the egg will hold it’s temp for so long. Even more amazing is the fact I followed Elder Ward and The Naked Wiz and have not opened it up once to look. Looking forward to a great dinner!

Wino,
It's always a little test of faith doing an 18+ hour cook and not opening the dome to look. Trust me, it'll be well worth the time.
