how to fake a butt?

I saw my father-in-law at a wedding this weekend and he asked how to make a butt using a crock pot that's similar to what he had off of my BGE. He lives in NH, hates the cold so grilling it for a bit is out of the question.

Also, I know this is impossible but any advice to get him closer to his goal would be great.
