Baby Back Ribs

Just bought some baby back ribs at BJ's and I am looking for some thoughts on how to cook them this weekend. What temperature and how long. Also, I don't have a rib-rack...does that matter...direct or indirect heat? Thanks

Devlor,
I like to cook mine indirect for about 5 -5 1/2 hours at 225. Pull the membrane off coat the meaty side with mustard and your favorite rub. How many are you cooking? I use a rib rack when only cooking 3 slabs. Just habit.
    Good Luck,[p]CWM

  • Car Wash Mike,
I have 2 big slabs. Do you take the membrane off before you cook? So I'm OK without the rib rack?

    Devlor,
Check the "Submitted recipe" section above...there are dozens of different techniques....you should also go to my website and download the forum cookbook put together by the "Wise One" from this forum...it`s invaluable...personally I prefer the Jim W method and plan to some this weekend and document the whole cook.[p]Wess

Devlor,
Take a piece of paper towel and pull the membrane off, then apply mustard and rubs on the meaty side. You'll be fine without a rib rack. Here is a pick of 1 slab, 2 or more will be okay. If they hang over, just rotate a little bit.[p]CWM

    Devlor,
If you want to get hi-tec with the membrane removal I use a pair of cat-fish skinners works great
