I am preparing a 7lb pork butt to cook, i will cook it at 225 for 12 to 14 hrs per all the BGE cooks that think i am crazy to say that it would normally take me about 5 to 6 hrs to cook this 7 lbder. will be using the DigiQ2 to do the cook, will set the internal temp high enough that it will be for monitoring purposes only. wife says that i will cremate it but i am doing this just to see what will happen to a butt that stays on the BGE that long. may put it on tonite but am planning on about 5 or 6 am sun. wish me luck i got a 15lb bone in pork loin that i had sliced into 1.5 in pork chops for dinner sun.

Thanks everyone for all the info and support. This cook was a total waste of time and money but i have satisfied myself that it dont take this long to cook a butt, next time i will go back to my old way of cooking pork butts.

That's weird. I wish mine would cook that fast. I read your older posts about it and figured something was wrong. I guess it is just a problem with the space time continuum in your egg. Try checking the flux capacitor, then try again.
