According to naked whiz my thermometers should show boiling at 210 deg considering elevation and barometric pressure.
My big green egg digital remote registers 212, the dome thermometer 212 and the thermapen 210.
Would you all consider them within acceptable tolerances?
Hate to be anal, but I am an aspiring egger.
thanks

I think I'd keep tweaking until they all read 211.999999999999. (tongue firmly in cheek) Dude, you need to go cook something RIGHT NOW! LOL
-
Ha! You are probably right!
I will take it that you think those numbers are acceptable! -
Absolutely not. All three are obviously defective and should be replaced. All thermometers should always read the exact same at all times.
-
Lets see ... 2 degrees out of 212 degrees is a 0.94% error. Got anything in your possession with a smaller error? I think not.

If you really want to be anal use this: http://www.csgnetwork.com/h2oboilcalc.html

Yeh, I did calculate according to elevation and barometric pressure.
I think you all should take this a bit more seriously. Could make a lot of difference on a long, slow, cook.
I don't really want to be forced to interpolate between all my thermometers and come up with some formula that will coordinate them.
It would be easier to calibrate them exactly.
Know what I mean?
TIC(tongue in cheeck) -
Go cook, your fine. If your worried about 2 degrees you must never cook in your kitchen oven.
