I finally have a small to go with my large....got tired of waiting for my dealer to get a mini so I bought the small....don't have a pic yet, haven't broke the news to the large yet.....but I can say the Weber gas is gonna start to feel out numbered
I'm assuming there isn't much difference in cooking on the small, just a smaller cook.....any tips ya'll have when it comes to the small are appreciated

Mine is easier to control than either large. Gets to temps and shuts down much quicker. Loving it so far.

The meat will be a LOT closer to the coals, meaning better or nore charring...and obviously the smaller grid size...other than that there's not a lot of difference...The small is a steak cookin machine..you'll love it. It may take a little longer to get to temp than your large..some do..some don't...Enjoy..

mines slower to start, partly to do with the fact that i dont use it as often and partly, i believe, due to the small lower vent. other than that, its the same cooker.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Interesting. Unlike your and Wess's mine is up to 350-400 about 3 times faster than either large & the larges aren't that slow.

My small is slower to get to temp than my larges. The mini is real quick. -RP

I'm wit you, Randy. The small is very slow, but once it gets to about 300° it really takes off. The mini can hit a million degrees in seven seconds.
-
You made a good choice. The small can be lugged around for tailgating but takes a bit longer to cool down.
I still predict a mini in your future. -
takes me near 45 minutes to hit around 700, and im using a weedburner. this brings another difference up, my small will only reach about 800 degrees dome where my large will jump to around 1200 dome. :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I find my small is a bit tougher to control then either of my large Eggs. But that may still be the new burning off. My wife seems to like the small better than her large. Our mini is more of a conversation starter, sad I know...

You will find you have to clean out the ash more often.

Take my advice, sell the gasser while there is still value left in it.

I love the smalls, it is probably my favorite size. Portable if need be but big enough to do some larger cooks.
