An Introduction and Welcome
Weekend Warrior
Posts: 1,702
After NewEgglandfest, I drove to my sister's place in upstate Vermont for a long overdue visit and to deliver her new large EGG. I was worried about this because I had brow beat her and her husband for two years about getting rid of their gasser and becoming an Egghead and was very concerned they wouldn't take to it like I did. Well, my fears were unfounded. She took to cooking on the EGG like a duck takes to water. I am eggstatic! Here are some pics of a few of her first cooks.
Her first beef short ribs:
Pizza before:
and after:
Some spares and butternut squash :
Her handle is WWSis. Please welcome her to the forum and encourage her. She is showing early signs of becoming a terrific EGG cook. Thanks to all in advance. Mark

Welcome WWsis. You're among friends, cult that we are. Looks like you are off to a good start. The "Newbie" title won't last long if you keep that kinda cooking up.
Just ask if we can be of help.

Welcome WWSis! You have a great mentor in WW. Looks like you won't have much of a learning curve. The food looks great! I have to try the butternut squash.

Welcome WWSis!!!
Those are some good lookin' cooks. How did the beef ribs taste? My most diappointing cook was beef ribs...they looked great but just did not taste good. I don't know if I just like pork that much better or if the meat was bad or if I did something wrong.
Anyway, welcome! -
Welcome and your off to a great start. Don't worry we won't hold it against you that your Mark's sister  :P

How funny is that. We are on vacation and one of my larges is staying for an extended period of time in the sunshine state. My uncle will be taking control of eggsmerelda.

correction, very impressive for an Egghead . She sure doesn't cook like a newbie, think those BBQ genes are already well seasoned--she just has a "hotter" set up now! What a sweet bro you are, WW...
Welcome WWSis -
Gene, what's the name for the XL????
-
It's between Pooter and Heavy P. I want to name it after PBM and the wife wants heavy P (long story).
She will probably win and Heavy P will most likely win out, come to think of it, that could be a new nickname for Mike:
PBM
Pork Butt Mike
Poot Butt Mike
Pooter
Heavy P
Not too bad. -
Congratulations WWSis and a very warm welcome to the forum.
Looks like you are going to give Mark a run for his money. Those are some very nice looking cooks.

thanks again for the bacon. i have a migh mountain cure from thirdeye that is next on the agenda. i'm doing bratwurst today, then starting the bacon this weekend i think.
what's the best way to enjoy the stuff you gave me? i'm thinking eating it straight (off the grill), but let me know if you have pother ways you like to use it that don't cover the flavor.
good to meet you again, and have a safe trip back.
