How to figure butt yield for a crowd

I've been tapped to do the pulled pork for 100 person family event. I remember someone on the forum had a formula to figure out how much butt you needed to feed X number of people, but I sure can't find it.
They're planning on serving pulled pork sandwiches, so I'm guessing 2 4 ounce servings of meat per person. That means 50 pounds of pulled pork, which means I need to start with 80 pounds of boneless butt (I'm guessing 40% shrinkage).
I know there are folks here with way more experience cooking for a crowd than I have. How do those numbers sound to you?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

the number i remember is 2.4 servings of uncooked butt. 100 divided by 2.4 is approx 42 pounds of uncooked butt. you will have to compensate for the type of eaters your guests are, celtic wolf has a nice rightup for this withn a different method but i believe the results are similarfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Yup, # of people divided by 2.4
You can use that forumula or CW's method to cross check the other one.

Thanks much. Depending on who's math I use, I get between 4 and 5 butts. I'll plan on doing 5 just to cover my butt.
BTW - the cretin factor on this event ought to be pretty high as they'd originally asked me to make pulled pork but didn't want it "barbecued." I told them that that's the only way I make it.
Might have to have plenty of adult beverages handy.Food & Fire - The carnivorous ramblings of a gluten-free grill geek.
