Folks,
Anyone do multiple (2 or 3) vertical chickens on a large BGE?
I did one the other day - it came out fantastic (mmmm.. smokenlicious sugar maple...)... - However I found that there really isn't much clearance for the chicken (centred underneith the vent). I'm wondering if anyone has done more than one successfully..
I had the platesetter positioned legs up with the grate on top..
any help is appreciated.

Woukld this be the "Naked" stand. Spring Chicken posted a few years ago.

Using plate setter legs up would bring the grid to gasket level, thereby minimising the head room. This photo shows chickens below gasket, does it mean plate setter was omitted and drip pan serves as heat deflector for indirect effect? or was there a spider with pizza stone?

I was referring to photo in link provided by fishlessman above.

if your having problems with the height, its because your using the platesetter, to roast a chicken you can go direct or just use a metal pan. a platesetter is not needed for this cook.heres one cooked direct. dont fill the firebox to give it more distance between the food and the fire

hmmm.. makes sense.. I'll try direct, and put a drip pan under the chicken.
thanks!!! -
drip pan under the chicken makes it an inderect cook, but it works fine. if you want you can even use the pizza stone under the pan but its not neededfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

No problems that I remember, I would pull the dome thermometer out just to be sure.
