Hey all,

I've manage to acquire a collection of wood chippies:
Alder
Pecan
Mesquite
Hickory
Apple
Cherry
Maple

My question is when to soak, and when NOT to soak?

Dumb question probably, but hey, I AM a newbie and the BBQ season is just startin up here!

Cheers :cheer:

With the Egg there is really no neeed to do that because of lack of excess oxygen.Justr mix in with your lump if doing a over night cook.Or just a few on top if it is a short cook.

    OttawaEgg,

Darnoc answered your question. I prefer chunks over chips myself. I find it too hard to regulate the amount of smoke. With chunks you can just pick an appropriate size and put it in. Did you check that link for Smokinliscious?

    I second that :cheer:
You just don't spend as much time sipping your cocktail next to the Egg in the Winter. Course I just got mine on New Years. It hasn't taken many breaks since then.
