Yeah, I'm with you. My favorite chef's knife is Chicago Cutlery I got at Tuesday Morning for $10. It is better than the Trident we have had for years.
OK, now you going to tell us that you wash them in the dishwasher also? LOL

Actually, other than occasional ritual grinding [also with a Wolfgang Puck product], I wash and store them correctly.
I just really am a cheap-skate! :laugh:
Someday I get a real knife, when I grow up and get invited to the grown-ups' table!
