I am going to do a small pork roast tomorrow and need some advice on temps and time. Should I do it the same as Prime rib or cook it slower?
Thanks in advance, Rick in Mt.

350 deg until it hits 140 deg, rest for 10 min, slice.

Direct or indirect?
And thanks -
Ric:
Cook this indirect. You can use a rub to season the outer part of the roast and brown it a bit direct but be careful as it may heat up and get away from you. Use a plate setter legs up with a drip pan and cook indirect with 2 cups soaked apple wood til internal temp reaches 165 deg pull and wrap in aluminum foil and let rest for 15-20 min slice and serve. You can make adelicious glaze with applesauce, cinnamon, brown sugar, and just a tad of ground cloves. Use apple cider as the liquid and simmer ahead of the cook to a syrup consistency. Dome temp for the cook should 350-375. Hope this helps. -
140 internal was not a typo. 165 will give you pretty dry pork IMHO.

I did one on Thursday, 350 indirect as explained above.
Just rub, some cherry wood fresh off the tree and pulled at 150 internal.
It was just great. I guess 140 would have been fine but I am still a little edgy going that low with pork although most seem to feel its ok -

During the rest, the internal temp will go up 7 - 10 degrees.

Thanks for all the help
I will try and post pics.
