I know there have been a lot of threads about this subject recently, but I am all out of lump. The closest BGE retailer is 30 minutes away  and I have an Ace Hardware just down the street :P . They have both of these and wanted to get your opinions on both.

I use the Cowboy routinely and like it. When I do a long cook I'll use Wicked Good, but, for every day use I find the Cowboy to be quite adequate. I've never used the Frontier.

Frontier sends up sparks and ash with any cook above 300 dome. Ruined my dinner with the first use. I had bought a couple of bags, and ended up burying it under Cowboy or RO lump when I did low-n-slo cooks. Took months to be rid of it.
Cowboy is fine, if not the best for cooks over 12 hours. -
I just bought 200lbs. of Cowboy from Ace @ $12.95 for 20lb bags. I would do it the Cowboy way, it might not be the best for real long cooks but it is good lump. Lights fast, burns clean and hot and doesn't leave much ash.

I haven't used Frontier...
But I have used 20 lbs. of the Cowboy lump and it worked well for me. -
You might want to check out this web site, lots of useful info on how various brands perform:

if you have a do-it-best hardware store in your area, check this out:

i bought 4 bags of this to give it a try--it shipped free to a nearby store.
the lump is very dense, and i was very pleased with the large chunks of lump in the first bag i opened. -
Thats all I can get this time of year in my area Cowboy, I like it but last few bags were all small bits.

Cowboy is fine. Since my RO source dried up, I've used nothing but Cowboy and that includes some overnight low and slo's. Before the source dried up I used to always keep both RO and Cowboy on hand. Used the cowboy for hot cooks and clean bakes (like pie and bread)
Cowboy tends to burn clean and hot.
I haven't tried the other brand you mentioned. -
The nice thing about Ace is the free shipping to the local store... order from home on-line and they call when it gets there (1-5 days)Kent Madison MS

Darn, all my answers are already taken. However, since I like to hear myself talk (yes, I do speak out loud as i type) here goes:
I've never used Frontier, only Cowboy
try the Naked Whiz's site like Shiff said.
I've used cowboy for overnights with no problem a couple times and once almost ran out of lump before finishing.
Cowboy burns clean without a lot of smoke
Sometimes get mostly small pieces, sometimes mostly large, no rhyme or reason for it.
Based on other replies and my experience, seems like Cowboy is the way to go, good luck.
