Making Sausage

Buying some pork butts for .79 lb and would like to make some of it into sausage. Anyone got any good receipes. Hot or mild is ok---Thanks


  • What type of sausage are you wanting to make?
    I have recipes for: Breakfast, Italian, Bratwurst, Salami and a Venison & Pork Kilbasa type.

    Hey Mike, I used to try all sorts of recipes for sausage, but since Thirdeye turned me on to the Hi Mountain products, that's all I use. Here's a link to their site. I really like the bratwurst and Italian, but the summer sausage is really good too. You tasted their polish sausage in Tempe. The nice thing about their kits is they come with casings and a cure if you want to make smoked sausage. -RP

    $.79 a pound??? Man, you are cuttin' a fat hog in the a.... uh, that's a really good price. I've been paying $.99...

    I have three of my favorite sausage recipes in the SAUSAGE section of my site. Farm, Scililian (with wine and cheese) and Hot Italian. There is a second page that has some sausage making tips and a few do's and dont's........And, if you are serious about heat, I can post Bigwheels Famous Texas Hot Links. If you really want to get a BIG look, I will e-mail you a 137 page .pdf file of excellent recipes. Just say the word.
