Profile/no city or state

One of the things I miss when looking at someones profile is it does not tell you the city and/or state they live in.

It's about 5:25 a.m. I have been up for about an hour so at times I try to figure out what time it is where others live. Here in AZ we don't change our clocks for daylight savings and I'm happy about that.

Question, would it bother you to have either/or your city and state listed in your profile.

Just curious.

Thanks,
Bordello

Nope. Wouldn't bother me at all.

I assumed it was an oversight, rather than a protection. I'd welcome it.

That is something that would be nice and NO, it would not bother me at all if that information was published. I also think name (real name) should be an optional field.

Thanks, I think on the old forum we were able to add it if we wanted but I can't recall for sure, do you???

Maybe if enough of us don't mind we can suggest it for the future in the forum feedback section.

I was wondering about the protection thing also. I pretty sure we had it on the old forum.

    Thanks for input.

Add it to your signature line

I'd like that to be available. We did have it in the old forum if eggers chose to include it in their profile. I added to my signature line some time ago.

I'll be darned, someone here is thinking.
It's so easy to overlook the obvious.

The only thing is if there is not a specific line for it most won't think to do that. I will try to see if I can do it for mine but I do like to see what part of the country my fellow egger's are in.

Great thought, you go to the head of the class. :)

    Thanks,
    Bordello
  • I think most of the users here, know about the sig. and if they wanted to put in there city or state they would. It is nice to see what part of the country where fellow Eggheads are from but for those who don't have it I am sure they have good reasons. Happy Egging To All.

I don't understand how that helps. I clicked on your profile to see if I could tell where you're at from it and I don't see anything about city and/or state.

Can you explain more to this old guy? :(

    Thanks,
    Bordello

Just looked in the Update profile and my city and state are listed and the icon to the right says it will be visible but it does not show when anyone clicks on profile.

I will ask on forum feedback.

    Thanks,
    Bordello

It doesn't add anything to my profile. I appears on the signature line of each message I post. Look at my signature line below.

    Thanks, got it.

That's better then nothing but the only way one can find where you at is to look for a post, I usually just click on the name in the "who's on-line" section. That way if one hasn't posted recently ya wouldn't have to search for it.

I posted in forum feedback that city and state are in my profile and the icon says it's visible but yet it does not show up.

Thanks for trying to help. I suspect others have there city and state listed but it's not showing up either.

I think it's a great idea. For the time being I just added to my signature.

I put it in the signature line. If it was optional on the profile wouldn't that get around any "protection" issues?

Hell the country would be nice!
Yes - every time I update my profle I change the country to UK but it always displays as US - I'll do it again now and you can take a look at my profile, you could even try the same with your own.
