Cooked my first ribs yesterday, and they came out great. I had them in for about seven hours in a rack, and sprayed them with apple juice several times throughout the process.

They were falling off the bone and had great smoky taste. The BBQ sauce burned on them right at the end, which surprised me, but really didn't affect the taste. I'll have to be a little more careful with that next time.

All in all, I was really pleased. Thanks to everyone for the advice. Erik

I don't put anything on my ribs except for the rub. I flip them on the vertical rack about every 1/2 hour...or as someone a long time ago said--flip 'em after every beer you down. That way I don't have to worry about burning them. It's amazing just how juicy they come out without basting them...just one of the great things about the BGE.
