How to use the Grill Gripper on the XL?

How do you use this Gripper to remove grill (XL) without chipping the porcelain finish??...Any special techniques out there??... I tried removing the grill on my new XL when it was still warm and noticed it was bending the grill and destroying the finish. I believe it's because the 24" grill is too heavy to manage with just one gripper...thinking about getting a second gripper and using it for both sides of the grill.

I don't have an XL but can well imagine what you are experiencing. That is a big grid.

I might suggest thirdeye's third hand. It will lift my Large CI grate and should easily take care of your problem. Good service too.

Not sure about the dog part it is cute, but I know what other things dogs lick.

I did the same thing with one gripper. Bought a second and lifting the grill was much easier. Also purchased a couple of the silicone fingertip gloves that I can use to move the grill around. Good Luck

I second the Thirdhand. I have a couple and could not live without them. And you can hang your grid on the table while it's hot and free up both hands.
