Stuffed Turkey

For over 35 years I have been the one who cooks the familys holiday turkeys. I do them in the oven using a variation of my mothers stuffing/dressing. Sage, sausage onion etc. The stuffing in the turkey always turns out to be everyones favorite compared to the extra that I cook in a casserole.[p]I would like to try a stuffed turkey on my med BGE. I have done one not stuffed and it came out great. What type of adjustments do I have to make for about a 12-14 bird, stuffed? Time temp etc.?[p]Thanks,[p]Big Ed


  • Big Ed,[p]Would definitely have a remote probe (or at least one you can have on your nest. Your bird will have to cook longer so you should mold some aluminum foil over breast and wings while it is cold and then set the masks aside. After the bird has cooked a while and developed a nice color you can put the masks back on. Doing this will prevent the white meat from overcooking and drying out.[p]TLHRTP
