I'm sure most saw the before and after but finally got the Egg back in the refinished table. To move it alone had to break all the way down so replaced the fire box and grate along with a new gasket (thanks BGE the warranty is great). Table came out pretty good so stained the new eggmates to match.

Egg back home with the eggmates to match
Yes I will hold off on the stainless top.

Looks great Pat.I'm glad you decided against the SS top(at least for now) I got some nice ashtool handles ready for ya :woohoo: I found the mother load of perfectly aged oak :woohoo:

did you have your table dipped to strip it or just sand the bejeebers out of it? Looks nice!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

That Oak looks great buddy. I have a really large oak in the back yard thats gonna have to go when the pool goes in. The trunk is 3 ft. across. Wish I could save it but ain't happening.

Just sanded down to bare wood. Took forever with the afternoon Fl rains and no dry place to work but not to bad for a concrete guy. I have a new respect for wood workers.

it kind of reminded me of this abandoned table I saw once at a former dealer's back lot. Definitely left to rot.

If you compare thats my table. It came with my first egg and think it was an original BGE table

Sweet!

Nice job Pat. It would be a shame to cover all that work with your stainless top. There is nothing like a nicely finished wood surface. Stay will my friend.Larry
