do butts have a mind of their own?

I put an 8Lb and a 4Lb on over a plate setter at 250 and at 9AM. It is 5:30 and I am at 188Deg. The temp flucuated between 250 and 267. But I have never had a butt done so soon. I would like a little feed back from the EGGsperts.

The 4 should be done already if you look at 2hr/#. If the 8# is done already, that is fast. Please clarify!

Can't speak for yours but my butt's have a mind of their own as for the wifes,,, Okay not going there. I've done a bunch and the times have always varied (thank God for the cooler) Cooked a 8# and 6# and the 8 finished 2 hrs before the 6#. You never can tell about butt's (yes dear the pork ones "ouch quit hitting me"). They're are done when they're done. Let us know how they were.
