Yeah thats what I thought. Thats pretty bad when the dealers dont even know.

Time to educate your dealer..
Though in your dealer's defense the small platesetter is a relatively new item. -
da dealer would be wrong.

Marc,
"they" are nice people, but even owner Gerry and his daughter Tracy (2nd in command) will tell you their wholesaler in Illinois is TOTALLY clueless! Gerry has thanked me for years for keeping him/them abreast of what's going on...
BTW have you talked to Steve, about the Grate Mates he purchased? Personally I cut my own cast iron grate for my small BGE and don't use any thing else in that small which I use for at least 60% of all my cooks!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time. -
Our big dealer here had no idea there was a cast iron grid for the small egg.
-
I had the same issue. Sounds like their catalogue is out of date.
-
Don't you just hate it when your dealer becomes a non-dealer simply from a lack of knowledge?
-
Another reason doing some research on the WWW before walking into any store to purchase any item (BGE related or not) can be beneficial.

Here is the link: http://www.gratemates.com/
I prefer this over the platesetter because it doesn't take as long to heat up since there's no ceramic involved as well as allowing you to cook direct on an elevated surface which is fantastic. Here is a pic with it elevated and indirect (ignore that I had the stands inverted in this picture  ):

Be sure to tell your non-dealer that the make a cast iron grid for the small now as well. -
Here it is in all its glory
Everyday is Saturday and tomorrow is always Sunday. -
RR -- I see you have GrateMates in there too. What to you plan to do with the plate setter? (I also have GrateMates and a Small plate setter.)
-
I switch back and forth between Chubby's Grate Mates and the plate setter. I use the Grate Mates for all my normal cooking as I use the raised grids a lot and I use the plate setter for baking and pizza. I really do not use the small for low and slo cooks as I use my large for that. All things concidered if I had to buy one it would be Chubby's Grate Mates as they really are versatile. The small plate setter was a gift so that is how I got one.Everyday is Saturday and tomorrow is always Sunday.

This stuff is fun, isn't it?
