Nothing will ever take the place of my BGE, but am looking for advice on a new propane grill. Anybody have preference on regular versus infared? Lowes and Home Depot has both but getting someone to help is difficult

A couple of final thoughts; First, quality comes at a price, but high price doesn't guarantee quality. Lower priced units usually have uneven cooking temps and don't tend to hold up over time. On the other hand, there are some very high priced units that have had serious quality control issues. A good example is Viking. Beautiful units, but a lot of customer service issues. My opinion is more name than quality.

Second, buy a grill large enough to get the job done, but don't spend the money on a 48" unit if you don't really need one.

    Good Luck
