Temp disparity

Doing my first brisket (6lb flat, fat down) and its been a while since I did a low and slow cook. Seems I'm having a disparity in temp gauges, especially with the Guru.

Dome temp says 270 (have not cleaned the thermometer for a while)

Guru Competitor lit up between 250 - 275, (probe is attached to the dome thermometer) However, Pit Set Point Dial is set at about 240.

(I added a probe on the grate to see what that temp read and its at 226).

Any thoughts or comments here?

Thanks

My guess is that your egg thermometer is off and you may have your guru damper open a little too much so the temps are spiking slightly above the set point.

The grid temp at 226 is in the range you want for brisket, so I would say don't worry about it and calibrate your dome thermo after the cook is done.
