I bought a case of roasts at sam's and cut them. They also sell them cut like this.

Tri-Tip steaks are also referred as Coulotte steak.

looks like good beef, but tri tips are a new and rare thing here in s.e. PA. TomM24 was able to get some in NJ. months before i found any. jlockhart29 was sold and cooked a tri tip that turned out to be a sirloin tip roast? if i remember. seems to me many of us are getting the 'wrong end of the stick' when it comes to tri tips. what follows are the links to my recent encounter with the first tri-tips i found . be sure to read the comments of the 'knowledgeable ones" and ignore my toes.

brocs recommendation of resting the tri-tip is a must as far as i am concerned.
