I have an ancient egg (38yrs old) and need to get an adjustable cap, draftdoor and seal. Mine is a clay large unit. I have been keeping it going and had to cement the base back together, rebuild the firebox, rebuild the cap and cement the firering together. It still cooks great tho. Cooked a batch of country style ribs yesterday and it held steady at 277. Definately cannot afford a new one.
Almost drove to get a 3yr old #5 Kamado this weekend. He was asking $300. #5 is a large.
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your egg should be in a museum somewhere. I don't know if newer eggs
are the same size.Do you have a local egg store to try?I'm spoiled,I can drive to Egg HQ in 30 minutes. If you can wait a week,I'll let you know. :)
