I see a crack starting to work its way across. I have access to a plasma cutter. Has anyone tried cutting heavy guage expanded steel at the correct diameter as a replacement? I am a little concerned about there being so much more open area and it allowing the ash to fall too easily in larger pieces. Maybe cutting 2 pieces and rotating one 90 degrees would help. Is this similar to a turbo grate I've seen in subject lines before?
