Kim and I are going to Albuquerque to attend the show at the end of February, wondering if any other Eggheads will be there. -RP

  • Greetings All,
i lived in ABQ for the past 5 years and the show is the Who's who of HOTTT!!!
it is definetly the one chile show to hit. it used to be in the convention center down town but for the past two years has been at the Sandia Hotel and Casino right on interstate25 at the Tram way exit., they have their own off ramp. i personally recommend it to anyone that has not been there before.
Another show to hit once is the Hatch chili festival held each year the weekend after Labor day in Hatch New Mexico.
Anyone that is going should make reservations either at the Sandia resort or a local place soon as it is growing larger every year.
    Enjoy the show
  • Also the other thing i didn't mention is that the local egg dealer has a very sizeable display at the show. Anyone that goes please tell Chrissy or Mark that andy said hey!
    thanks
  • Thanks for the info, I know right where you are talking about, we may try and make that one. We also generally do the Hatch run every Labor Day weekend and bring home a sack or two of fresh roasted chile. Good stuff.

I can't make it this year but have been in the past and it's a blast. All kinds of crazy products and you can taste them all. Be careful, there's some smokin hot stuff!
It gets really crowded mid day so try to get there early. The casino hotel is pricey but really nice as well. If it wasn't for the HPBA show I'd be there.

  • One further thing is if any of you have any type of business you can contact the show folks and get registered for the vendor only parts of the show. they are usually three hours each day before the show is open to the public and you don't have to put up with the throngs of people there. it is also free to business owners and you get a special line to avoid the waiting public. once they open the doors to the public it is like" ants on a picnic."

the show is sponsored by Sunbelt shows i believe and you can find them if you do a google on the fiery foods and bbq show. all the arrangements can be made by fax.

for those who don't want to spend the money at Sandia Hotel there numerous rooms available within a few miles south on Interstate 25.
There is "restaurant row" south on 25 between Jefferson ave and Montano.

Watch out for the vendors that dole out samples on toothpicks, cause those are the SMOKIN HOT LETHAL ones!!!!
