Brisket rub question

I have cooked a couple of briskets using a yellow mustard coating and a rub of lime pepper seasoning. Both were very good. This is my first egg brisket and I wanted to try something different. I saw a rub recipe using kosher salt, turbinado sugar and other spices. Will the salt dryout the meat and will the sugar burn during the long cooking?

Turbinado will tolerate heat better than table sugar. That is why you see it in rubs. Don't worry about the salt, the thin layer you are applying will not affect dryness as much as you'd think.

    Good Luck.
