I'm having friends over for pulled pork this weekend and want to offer an alternative to the vinegar and mustard sauces that my family usually eats. Anyone have a good tomato-based sauce recipe that could be used for pulled pork?

I'm orignially from the Piedmont area of SC and this is very similar to the sauce I usually make. - I just leave out the catsup. If you start in eastern NC and move west across the state and then down into SC and all the way to the coast it is very interesting how the sauce recipes gradually change...

Thanks for the recipe, I will give it a try this weekend.

It is. It is a very "bold" sauce. Spent 90% of my life in South Ark. and N. La. and a bunch of partners are coonasses. Heck I'm just 1 step removed! Love strong flavors and this does it. Carefull with the Turkey. It can overpower the other flavors quick!lol You want a balance of sweet/hot/tangie
