I am trying my first pizza this afternoon and would like to know if anyone can recommend a good store bought pizza sauce. If anyone has a quick homemade sauce that would be appreciated as well. I have cooked on my new LBGE that I received for Christmas for the last four days with great success and would like try a pizza this afternoon.[p]I think I can get used to cooking on this thing every day. My wife naturally says to go for it.[p]Deacon of Que

If you have a Trader Joe store in your area their brand pizza sauce is very good.

We love "Dei Fratelli" Presto Pizza Sauce. Comes in 12 Oz cans. Great taste! Can be hard to find though. It's well worth the hunt.

    Easy homemade pizza sauce

    1 Tbsp EVOO
    1/2 cup minced onion
    2 tbsp minced garlic

    Sautee those until translucent

Add 1 12oz can tomato sauce or diced tomatoes if you want it chunkier
    Add 3-4 oz tomato paste

Fresh basil and oregano (or dried if you don't have fresh) to taste
    Salt
    Black pepper

Heat to combine flavors. Let cool prior to adding to your pizza.
  • My quick and dirty Pizza sauce:

1 14 oz can Muir Glen fire roasted crushed tomatos

    1 Garlic clove crushed

    1 tsp dried oregano

    1 tsp. dried basil

½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

    2 tbl olive oil

Quick enough for a tuesday night and I like it better then what I can get from a jar.
