I was wondering what side dishes folks were going to make. I'm going to do a standing rib roast, velvet mashed potatoes, some green beens & carrots. Looking for other options.[p]Merry Christmas,

Tommy,
Horseradish sauce, (sour cream and horseradish) a great of Cabernet, (I have a 99 Silver Oak and an 01 Jordan waiting) roasted rosemary red potatoes, and another bottle of cabernet. The most important side is someone to share this with.....
Best Christmas and Holiday wishes.

Buckethead,[p]Which Silver Oak - the Napa or the Alexander? Both are excellent wines with beef - and the 99s are some of their best.[p]Silver Oak is one of my favorite wines on the planet. I have a case each of the 02 and the 04 Napa Cab that I am saving for my two daughters' weddings. Those are the years of their births. I was married in 97 and I have a bunch of 97 cabs (not Silver Oak) and I break out a bottle for our anniversary dinner every year.[p]Yes, I am sappy.

Fidel,
Alexander Valley, but I have had the Napa and it is excellent. I'm a sucker for a great wine and piece of meat. That is why the egg is sooooo good. Take your time on fixing your dinner and enjoy the wine, the meat,(and sides) the company you keep. It's what is really important.
Best

Buckethead,[p]I love the Alexander. Just as good as the Napa for 60% the price.[p]I have a friend that works for Gallo and I get pretty deep discounts on most of the major labels.
