Problems getting new egg to cool
Options
I'm a brand new owner (first day) of a large egg. I'm having problems getting the temperature to get under 300 degrees. I put a fair bit of charcoal in there and I had it up at around 600 degrees earlier tonight searing some stuff. However, after over 2 hours with the bottom vent completely closed and the green cap on the top, my egg is still at 325 degrees. Is this normal? Perhaps there is a leak letting air in somewhere?

gceniza,
It will take about 2.5 hours to cool to about 150 degrees before you can put your cover on. Enjoy the Egg!
