Anyone ever cook corned beef on the BGE? I want to cook on of those corned beefs that you get from the grocery store wealed in the plastic bag with the spice packet, if feasible on the Egg. Thanks.
Birdman,[p]I cook them often ... Good stuff. I do mine cajun style with alot of spices! I smoke it for 5-7 hours (depending on plateau period) to internal of 195 degrees. The only problem I have is that corned beef shrink alot![p]Have fun and good eatein![p]Smokey
Thanks. I wwas thinking of cooking it in a shallow baking dish in liquid and the spice packet, loosely covered with foil. What other spices do you add to make it cajun style? Do you use any smoke? Also, do you think it is possible to cook potatoes and cabbage with the corned beef on the egg & if so, how and for how long?[p]Thanks.
Birdman,[p]I usually just smoke it indirect over a drip pan (not in liquid. I do use wood chuncks for smoke. As far as spices, I use cyanne pepper, black pepper, hungarian (spicy) paparika, frech garlic (minced) and what ever else I have around. GOOD STUFF![p]
