Hi all! new guy, and soon to be full converted egg'r! My LBGE arrived yesterday, a little later than i expected but i was happy to see it! I spent a small bit of time putting the nest together and set everything up, and finished about 8pm. I loaded up the fire box and began my first cook, a 4.5lb chicken that i cooked using the TNW's "Dead Simple Spatchcock Chicken" recipe. Just over 60 minutes later my wife and i were eating our first meal off the BGE! "That was some good chicken", my wife declared,"when are you making ribs?"[p]I couldn't believe how easy this thing was to use, i've never used a charcoal grill in my life, i have used plenty of gas and 100's of cooks on my cookshack electric smokers. I think the electric my be hitting the classifieds today![p]Temp control was super easy, this thing performed absolutely perfectly and i (i guess we now that wife is convinced this was a necessary purchase :-) )couldn't be happier! thanks again to those who post on here and to TNW for his site, i learned a lot while waiting for my unit to arrive...[p]Don

Don from NJ,
Welcome to the cult and enjoy. You have already found, and obviously read, TNW's site so you are well on your way. Yes, you will likely want to sell the electric and gasser unless you need a place to store BGE accessories.

Don from NJ,
Welcome to the club! You'll be an egg head in no time.
Those spatchcock birds are my favorite way for whole chicken. Cooked two yesterday.
Enjoy your new egg!

Don from NJ,
Great job. In the future, you might consider doing two chickens at a time. It will be the best darn chicken salad you ever tasted, I promise. Welcome, and keep sharing your results. Before you know it, you will be dispensing little nuggets of egg wisdom to the new guys.
