Does anyone have information about how to remove the charcoal residue from inside the BGE?

    Marianne Holmes,
heat up the egg from 500 to 700 deg for a while and that stuff will flake right off. very easy to do. use some crumpled up ball of tin foil to scrape it off.

    Marianne Holmes,
You don't really need to clean it unless it is causing some sort of problem...

Heya Marianne Holmes,[p]It should burn off everytime you light your egg. It will always be black and never look like a new egg. That's called, "Baptism"! :P Just look at it as your Egg now has some "Character". Don't worry about it! The black inside is just a sign that it's properly seasoned, kinda light a cast iron fryin' pan...............you never have to wash it.[p]Regards,[p]thediva
