st. louis style, what drip pan???

I did the st. louis style last night and they were the best ever. have an old large and used a v rack with a grid...NO DRIP PAN....lot of rub.....250 3 hours saucing a little at the end they were almost falling off the bone...DIRECT!!!!!!
