24 hour beef jerky cook

<p />Getting ready to put on 15 lbs. of beef jerky. 7 1/2 lbs. at a time. Going to go indirect for 12 hours each cook at 175. Used GFW's recipe and modified with BBQ sauce and other spices. The EGG worked perfectly last time I cooked for 12 hours over night never missing a beat on temp. You really got to love this cooking machine. I'm so mad I didn't find this gem earlier.[p]CWM

    So you just pile it up high? I have always laid mine out like bacon in a pan, but throwing a big load on looks like fun..and faster!

  • Painter, Both. I put on about 8-9 and then I'm usually up at 4 every morning. In you younger days when I was in the grocery business I was up every morning at 4 to go to work. Some habits never go away. I usually use 2 grids and turning and rotating is not necessary.[p]CWM
