Fish on a Plank????

Anybody heard of cooking fish like this? What is it? What kind of wood or fish. What's the deal?

Bud Jones, That I`m not qualified to direct you on!, as I have never cooked "cedar plank salmon"
I just remembered reading the link I sent you and after reading your post thought It might have been of some interest to you....I expect one of the local experts would be able to help you with cooking instructions..

Bud Jones,[p] Check the submitted recipes section and you'll find:[p]Cedar Plank Recipe
and
Alder Plank Recipe[p]I would recommend against cooking with it directly over the fire. However, if you use firebricks or another indirect method, the plank shouldn't burn as long as you're careful . . .[p]MikeO
