Pork butt

edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Where did the name "Boston butt" come from refering to the shoulder cut of pork?

    Harold Knight,
I think the same people who decided to call a cut up boston butt "country ribs".
Country ribs aren't ribs, and a boston butt is not a butt. Crazy stuff.[p]I'm sure there is some history behind the name... I just think it is funny.
    Cheers
